I returned each afternoon to freshly baked rosemary shortbread cookies kept at the front desk. My poolside suite held an espresso machine and soaps made from local honey, which added to the quiet stay. I also ate a gourmet charcuterie board breakfast with focaccia bread in the courtyard near the pool, where I chatted with the chef about the daily ingredients.
I booked a massage in the serene onsite space after spending my afternoon in the tropical courtyard. I swam in the outdoor pool while Lupita prepared a vegetarian breakfast of stuffed zucchini and toast for me in the main area. My room featured a private patio and plenty of storage, allowing me to settle in for my night in this restored colonial house.
I soaked my tired muscles in the jetted tub inside my room after long walks in the heat. When I arrived, Rita ordered house specialty mocktails on the house while I sat in front of a cooling fan. My spacious room also held a Nespresso machine and a mini fridge for my drinks. I ate several meals at Johanne, which served local and international dishes throughout my visit.
I brewed Nespresso coffee in my unit each morning while I utilized the stocked oil, salt, and pepper in my kitchen. I swam in the shared pool set in the private garden. I drank the purified water from the provided tap throughout my visit.

Swimming in the private outdoor pool
I cooled off in the outdoor pool during hot afternoons after returning from Santiago market. I sipped fresh coffee in the garden while sitting at a shaded table. Linens and towels in my bedroom were changed regularly throughout my five nights here.

Cooking in the functional kitchen
I prepared my meals in the functional kitchen which came with full equipment. We enjoyed the large floor plan of the unit during our three-night stay. The building sits in a modern area outside the historic center of Merida.
I swam in the pool set within the courtyard. My mornings began in the gardens, which stayed quiet during my stay. I used the kitchen, which held basic appliances, to prepare breakfast.

Swimming under the tree
I swam in the backyard alberca while relaxing under the tree. My room had comfortable beds after a day spent on Paseo De Montejo.
I entered this Yucatecan house through a discreet black door. I ate breakfast at the house while I planned my visit to the Puuc route, Uxmal, and the Cenote Hacienda Mucuyche.

Crystal clear water in the lap pool
I swam in the lap pool which holds crystal clear water drawn from the cenote beneath the house. Fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee made up my breakfast each morning in the garden. I cooled off in the pool every afternoon, surrounded by the tropical trees that grow throughout the hotel.
